I have been calling 1-800-829-1040, which is the number for IRS customer service, but when I call, it doesnt give me an option to speak to a customer service rep. I need to speak to them, does anyone know how to actually speak to them?

866-234-2942 and than just stay on the line or press opt #2 than keep pressing 0…

  2. rd d says:

If you dial that number and don’t say or press any button prompted, a person will eventually come on line. In other words, ignore all the prompts. Sounds counter intuitive, but it works.

Good question! I actually work for the IRS and when I called the number the other day to inquire about MY rebate I got confused. The quickest way is to choose option 2, then the option that fits your situation.
